((I have a period of inactivity approaching, so I'm gonna try to bail and jack Feint out. Sorry for the huge delay on this post too, btw))

"We're almost out of chips, Cherish..."

    "..."

Two more fiery dogs remained, and a RageClaw chip wouldn't prove too useful at the moment. Looks like she'd grant Faith's wish for once and let them get away this time.

"Guess we're out of options then. Despite how eager I am to kill time trying to scratch at these pooches, I'll let them be for now."

A Spikey on each side at least meant nothing hindered her escape route straight ahead. Electricity traced her footprints as she sprinted down the empty road to retreat from the remaining two enemies.

Well that turned out as best it possibly could. Feint almost cracked a smile at their success, but she wasn't out of the danger zone just yet.

    "Cherish, delete the last knight!"

No hesitation came in executing those orders as a Cannon Chip appeared in Feint's hand. She was a bit more cooperative now that there was just a tad less stress in the equation. But odds were still against her at this point, so it was no time to get comfortable.

A second chip came in: Zap Ring.

"Maybe you can finish off the weakened wolf too?"

    "..."

Well there was no harm in trying. If she'd miss though, Faith only had the Rage Claw chip left, so it'd be a daunting fight to finish with only that.

Feint loaded both chips into her weapon and fired first at the nearby Swordy -- the kickback from the cannon blast nearly knocked her off balance, one could only imagine how hard it'd hit from the other side of the barrel.

Before the dust cleared from the shot, her weapon sparked with electricity as she turned to fire it at the Spikey she'd shot before with her ShotGun Chip. That same electricity trailed behind the green disk-shaped projectile in the air as she attempted to finish off the hound before it had the chance to attack.

Now she was nearly out of resources and still in the opening, vulnerable to attacks. She hated making habits while in combat, but it was a pretty solid strategy to go early on the defensive -- ready to evade incoming attacks -- than to strike again and leave herself exposed. Sometimes, though, she really didn't have a better option.

    "Ngh!"

Feint gave a rough grunt as two of the three sword strikes rung true.

    "Cherish, you're surrounded!"

    "No kidding!"

Frustration was speaking now. Outnumbered was one thing, but there was no way for her to evade six sources of damage when she could on realistically respond to three at a time -- and even then it was entirely left to chance.

It didn't really matter how evasive she chose to be; it was certain that she would get struck at a blind angle no matter which way she cut it. The most sound option was to eliminate as many potential attackers as quickly as possible. She'd take some hits in the mean time, but hopefully her firepower output would be able to catch up before they were able to put her down for good.

Electrical energy surged around her body and into her weapon just as before while she swiftly moved positions to break out of the inner-circle formed by the three swordies. Lining herself up to the side of the two in the front, she loaded in the Vulcan Chip data she had just received from Faith and fired away at point-blank range to the two that chose to attack her face on.

She felt defenseless now, only able to brace for more blows that would inevitably come. But she didn't think twice about declining Faith's recent command to retreat -- hopeless or not, she didn't shy away from a fight. Failure was more honorable than forfeit, even if it'd end up costing her more in the end.

"You think these are friendly too?"

    "Cherish, run!"

Well, they finally see eye to eye about an enemy being an enemy, and then Faith goes and tells her to retreat. How cowardly.

"Run? Oh no Nymphra, they're just playing around. Having fun and all, you know."

Faith furrowed her eye brows at Feint's sarcasm (and mocking, no less) as she slammed a chip into her PET -- nearly breaking the device in her anger.

Giving up the act, Cherish accepted the chip data and loaded it into her weapon. Their arsenal was pretty limited. If she missed a shot, it'd put her in a fatal disadvantage against these rather oppressive-looking enemies. Maybe she'd take a few hits for attempting to wipe out the front line first, but the less enemies she left alive, the less retaliation she'd have to deal with.

Feint quickly stepped to the side, lining herself up so that when she fired the Shotgun blast at one of the charging Spikeys, the second explosion would attempt to catch another one. Hopefully these pups were as addicted to playing "catch" as the last dog she'd shot at was.

Sadly there was no time for further action by the time the pack would have reached her, so she crouched down, ready to dive through the ranks of the approaching hounds as they drew close, intending to end up behind them and then just keep on tumbling for a few yards because what else could she do while under attack. If she'd end up surrounded, then maybe she could play that to her advantage -- if the Spikey's missed with their fireballs, maybe they'd hit a Swordy by accident.

That was thinking a bit further ahead than where she was at the moment though; for now, it was best to tackle this obstacle one step at a time.

Well, what was done was done. But Feint wasn't done. She continued wandering around for more viruses to beat up on, and Faith continue wondering why she allowed this to continue for as long as it did.

But who knew? Maybe Feint would actually decide not to savagely attack anything that appeared before her. It wasn't too much to hope for, right?

    "Now you're learning."

    *Sigh*

Faith loaded up her last two chips, unwillingly assisting Feint in a brutal murder of something she believed to be totally innocent.

And just as before, Feint popped the chips into her gun's ammo slots and took advantage of the virus' obliviousness.

    *POW-PO-PO-PO-POW*

The first bullet transfigured itself into what could best be described as a green ring of electricity as it shot across the air, attempting to strike the Melody's blindside and immobilize it. The next three shots fired off more rapidly than expected, like a burst of a semi-automatic machine gun. And the final shot was just a blank round from Feint's gun; a ball of air intending to finish off the unsuspecting creature if the rest of her barrage failed to.

    "Why you little..."

Feint grew more and more agitated with each hit she took, and right about now she was starting to feel soreness in her body from the consecutive blows. Electrical energy began to gather around her body again just as it had earlier; simultaneously, she zipped around to the other side of the Melody as her claws burst into shards of data to be replaced by the Shotgun Chip Faith had loaded up.

    *Click*!

Ammo went into the chamber of the gun, along with the stored electrical charges, and then out came an exploding blast of energy, intending to catch the Fishy in the aftermath assuming she had lined up properly with her initial target, the Melody.

    "They're just eager to die."

"No, they're just defending themselves because you're picking on them!"

Feint ignored her operator and stepped toward the second Melody, quickly lunging at it with her claws in attempts to turn this one to ribbons as well. First a wide-slash with the left claw then another wide cut from the right.

The Fishy looked like it had given up, but she'd still pursue that one before all was said and done.

    "Mmm..."

A concerned moan came from Faith as she watched "her sister" get squashed by the clumsy virus. She felt kind of bad now.

Feint held back the urge to grunt at the pain of her body being crushed beneath the Melody, but that pain turned to fuel for her rage at being blindsided by a sentient musical note of all things.

    "Still enjoying the show?"

    "... I sent you a Rage Claw."

Just like any other Chip Data that Feint received, it appeared in her hand as an actual Battle Chip for her to utilize, but this particular brand obviously wouldn't be loaded into her gun and fired.

Instead, Feint tore the chip data in two pieces, holding one half in each hand. Her fists glowed for a moment before fading back to their regular tone; when she opened her hands, the chip data was gone, but her nails had become sharp as claws (though more like the claws of a tiger than those of a bear).

She spread her arms apart, slashing at the Melody in an X-Pattern while it was still close by, angrily intending to rend it apart with both of the claws before it had time to reconsider its accidental assault.

    *Sigh*

Faith still seemed pretty unhappy. There she went again, lashing out at another poor virus that just accidentally bumped into her the wrong way (quite literally, but a bit more forcefully than the saying implied). Faith convinced herself in believing that the Melody had a sorry look in its eyes; that it regretted bouncing into Cherish -- that it was truly an accident and that it would apologize if it were able to speak.

But the big-bad-Feint held no forgiveness toward anybody, much less overlook even the smallest offense. Now she had her eyes set on all of the Melody's friends as well.

She'd leave this place in ruin before she left without getting her revenge.

"Now what? Are you going to kill the bird, too?"

    "Yes, that was the plan."

    "..."

No chip data came. Faith seemed pretty upset about Feint's last course of action.

"Fine. I'll do it without your help."

Electrical energy surged throughout Feint's suit again, but noticeably less than before. It enveloped her weapon as she fired on an empty chamber, but a visible, electrified ball of air came from the gun intending to hit the Fishy. She waited a moment for it to swing back around and dash at her, then prepared to step to the side and evade its attack before striking it any more.

    "They sound terrible."

"I think... they're agitating the dog."

    "I feel his pain."

"Maybe they'll stop annoying the dog if you scare them off? Here's a cannon chip. I think the sound of the blast will frighten them enough to leave the poor dog alone. Help him out, Cherish."

"... Sure, I'll end his misery."

    *POW*!

Electrical currents traversed Feint's body as she loaded the chip into her weapon, clearly amplifying the round she'd fired. It took a few moments for the electrical activity to wind down even after the blast, and the bullet seemed to be covered in the same electricity as it closed the distance between Feint and the "poor dog's" maw.

    "Cherish!"

    "..."

That'd either scare off or piss off the rest of them. And it was safer to say it was the later. Feint lowered her smoking weapon and kept her eyes on the four remaining targets (or five, should she have missed).

Well that went mostly okay. Feint criticized herself harshly in her mind, spiting the fact that she was too slow to evade the Spooky's attack.

But it'd been months since her last online activity, so she had an excuse for being less than perfect. In her opinion, at least.

"Alright, ready to jack out now?"

"I'll be ready when I'm EJO'd. I'm just getting started."

    "..."

Well hopefully she wasn't serious, but Feint rarely spoke anything other her (cold) true intent. Time would tell, perhaps. For now, she made her leave of the zen garden and continued wandering about the ACDC Network in search of more things to be angry at and shoot with her gun.

"Cherish, maybe you should take cover too?"

    "I'm not a coward, Nymphra!"

Feint wiped off the saliva that was still on her suit from the ghost that'd just slapped its tongue across her body. It was lucky to have died to the Vulcan shots -- she'd made its death much more painful had it otherwise survived her instinctive attack.

She made another important discovery just moments prior: the blind bunny wasn't so blind after all. Perhaps its first electric ring was just a warning shot -- the second one was far more accurate than the last.

"Here's a cannon chip -- finish the last one off then."

Just as before, the chip data appeared as a physical chip in Feint's free hand which she loaded into the chamber as if it were actual ammunition. And at the pull of the trigger, a cannon blast shot out of the gun aimed directly between the Bunny's eyes.

Feint quickly maneuvered behind one of the nearby rock structures just after firing the shot; that'd hopefully protect her from retaliation if the attack failed.

    "Not a coward?"

"I'm not taking cover. I'm just trying to sneak around to hit it from a blindside. There's a difference."

    She was definitely taking cover.

But whatever she wanted to tell herself was fine by Faith.

    "I'm not your sister."

    "Cherish! Come on!"

"And I told you to quit calling me that."

Feint sighed at her Operator and didn't budge as the electric ring flew passed her and missed. Truth be told, the creepy glare and tongue-licking of the ghost seemed more threatening than the thunder bunnies.

"A ballsy rabbit, a perverted ghost, and a coward. You thought I couldn't handle these? I'm offended, Nymphra."

"I didn't say that, I just wanted you to leave them alone. They look like they're just playing with each other."

"Hide-n-go seek is over for these scrubs. Besides, I need to relieve some stress after being locked in a cell for so long."

Faith sighed as she slotted in two battle chips to her PET. Interestingly enough, the chip data appeared as an actual battle chip in Feint's hand: a Shotgun and a Vulcan.

' I'll aim for the hiding one first, then the ghost for creeping me out. The last rabbit's clearly a terrible shot, so if it fires at me again it'll probably miss anyway. I'll take it out last. '

In her mind it sounded like a sound strategy.

Feint loaded the Shotgun Chip into an empty slot on her personal weapon, causing it to glow yellow and load a powerful bullet inside of the otherwise empty chamber of the handgun. She quickly took aim and fired it at the rock that BunnyB was hiding behind, intending for the spread of the blast to hit the primary target.

Not waiting to verify the hit, Feint turned her attentions to the Spooky and loaded the Vulcan Chip into her gun, causing it to shine with the radiant yellow glow again.

    *POW**POW*POW*

Three successive shots (with seemingly no recoil in between) traveled from the tip of the barrel to the virus' location before any of them had time to blink their eyes. She didn't preemptively line it up so that the spread of the shots would be directed at the attacking bunny; it just sort of happened that way.

Feint didn't doubt her own accuracy, but she didn't discredit the possible evasiveness of her targets either. Rather than gunning directly for the last virus, Feint lowered her weapon and waited for reprisal.

She could hit stationary targets all day, but one could never be certain how a particular enemy would react to being fired upon and there were plenty of times she'd failed to hit a target with quick enough reflexes. Rather than risking being caught offguard for the potential evasion of her enemies, she expected the worst case scenario (all of her shots missing) and planned for it accordingly.

Now even if a single shot landed, it was "better than expected" (though certainly not better than hoped).

    "Hmm..."

Surrounded, but fortunately two groups of viruses seemed to be too pre-occupied with each other to notice Warrior, Megami, and the rest of the viruses.

"Alright Megami, let's take out the Metools first, then we'll go for the bears and the wolves afterward. Hopefully they'll have worn each other down by the time we deal with the tank."

Jake chuckled. Warrior made it sound like success was guaranteed -- like this mettank couldn't possibly be the largest, strongest enemy he's stood up against up until this point.

    "And the Bunny?"

"He's just a lonely little guy. If he doesn't run away or even just assist us, then we'll just pop him with a Cannon or something and be done with it."

    "Flawless logic."

Warrior grinned as he made his approach toward the Mettool pack, clearly missing the sarcasm in Jake's voice.

    "Not attacking yet?"

"Not yet. Just getting into a better position."

A better position indeed. Warrior ran to the right flank of the Mettool-gang, intentionally opposite of the Bunny. Hopefully its electric ring would end up hitting one of the Metools instead of himself if it decided to attack again. Studying the viruses' formation, Warrior continued moving carefully to the back side of the group so that in his new position, he could see the Bears and Wolves fighting in the background without needing to turn his head (or even break line of sight with the Metools). Having total vision of the area was advantageous, and hopefully he'd have the added benefit of drawing the Metools away from the two previously spoke of factions so that they wouldn't be distracted from weakening each others forces.

Now came dealing with the Metools, but it was too dangerous to just charge in headfirst (a very important lesson he'd learned earlier today). He hesitated a little while longer both to prepare an attack pattern and to evade their follow-up attacks. He kept enough distance from the group so that he wouldn't be in the radius of any of Megami's wide-spreading attacks if she decided to strike them while they were (hopefully) side-tracked.

Satisfaction was an understatement for the way Feint felt right now. Being stuck in a PET for almost a month causes one to appreciate even something as simple as breathing in the digital air of the cyber world -- it was a luxury she hadn't had in a little while now.

Even such a common network as ACDC was an unfamiliar place to her. She wasted no time in exploring the vast area as soon as her body had been transferred here from Faith's PET.

Hopefully something interesting would be going on today too, because it'd probably be a long time before she had this leisure again.

The screen on Faith's PET lit up from its place on her desk as her Net Navi spoke to her.

"If you behaved better I'd probably let you out more often."

"You mean you'd let me out at all?"

It had been weeks since the last time she'd jacked in. Maybe an entire month? For living in a society so reliant on technology and cyber world interaction, Faith had quite a gift for avoiding it after their last "incident".

"You're not as forgiving as you say you are. Okay, I made a mistake and maybe said a few things I shouldn't have, but that doesn't give you a right to isolate me from society in this god-forsaken digital cage."

    "..."

Maybe Feint was right. Or maybe twenty-five days of hearing her complaining was just finally getting to her. But at least now she had finally admitted to doing something wrong.

"Okay. I'll jack you in. But if you don't behave I'm pulling you back out."

"What? You can't break me. I don't care if you lock me up for a month or a hundred years, I'm free to speak my mind whenever and to whomever I want. I'm just saying it puts you in the wrong for being a power-abusive operator is all."

    "Feint!"

"Ugh, fine. I'll hold my tongue until I have your permission to speak, my iron-fisted ruler."

    "..."

Feint's image burst into blue pixels and vanished as Faith silently jacked her into her PC. An "iron-fisted ruler" wouldn't have given her any freedom at all, right? Surely she was as bad of an operator as Feint accused her of being, but little did she realize that Feint had manipulated her self-doubt in order to get her way yet again. She knew just the right buttons to press -- she was good at that.

But unfortunately she didn't know how to keep out of trouble, and now it was only a matter of time before she'd find herself wrapped up in another "incident" that'd result in her being locked away again for weeks at a time.

There were certainly disadvantages to being an "unbreakable captive", as she proclaimed herself to be.

Appearance: Faith has shinning silver hair despite her young age and striking orange eyes, almost appearing crimson. She wears a thin silver jacket over a crimson V-Neck to cover her torso and a short silver skirt with crimson trims around her waist. Her ensemble is complete with silver elbow-high gloves and silver knee-high boots, each with a red ring around the wrists and ankles respectively. Even in her late twenties, her cream-colored skin has a very healthy complexion causing her to look much younger than she actually is.

Personality: Faith is the good Samaritan, always trying to help anybody with even the smallest of needs. She tries to be easy to get along with, but when she loses her patience with somebody she can be more blunt than kind. Although she and her Net Navi don't always get along, she still refers to Feint as her "sister" because she's the closest thing she's ever had to one. Interestingly enough, most people (even Feint) refer to her by her last name, "Nymphra", rather than calling her by her first.

Description: Feint wears what is possibly her most powerful weapon - an appealing catsuit, deceptively made out of a strong kevlar-like material. It's lightweight and flexible, but beyond bullet proof. Since the black suit is skintight, sans the thicker boots and gloves that extend along her forearm, Feint wears a leather jacket over the top of it that conceals her handgun's holster at the bottom of her lower back, though she doesn't button or zip it up. It's sometimes hard to tell wear the ends of her raven black hair hang on the black leather jacket, but it's generally to the middle of her shoulders. Her skin has a very fair complexion; a staple of young women. Her piercing blue eyes are her most memorable feature though - there aren't any quite like them in the world.

Personality: Feint seems to always be upset about something - she'll always find something to complain about. Despite claiming to prefer traveling alone, she's seldom ever seen alone, and despite preaching that she isn't a people person, she goes awfully far out of her way to help somebody in need sometimes. But the girl can hold a grudge; one misdeed and you're on her bad side for ever... but most people start on that side just by default. She's impatient, judgmental, rude - but for every bad trait she shows, she hides an equally as significant good trait. It just takes quite some time for it to show itself.

Feint is one of the few Net Navis to actually have a "real name": Cherish Pele (given to her long before she could remember), but despite this, most people other than her Net Op still refer to her by her alias, "Feint".

    Custom Weapon: Desolation

Weapon Description: A heavy, one-handed firearm. It would have enough kickback to dislocate Feint's shoulder when fired, but her suit absorbs most of the shock for her.
