    RE: Mission: Aquatic Archeology Adventure
Armoury blinked as her HUD lit up with warning signals, the klaxons sounding in her head letting her know that she'd be careless. With multiple locks on her she knew she had to direct as much fire away from Angler and the equipment as possible.
"I'm going to need a little firepower Valis, we might be in a bit of trouble" Armoury said as she started to run for the far corner of the platform.
"Alright here it comes" Valis replied as she slotted in her shotgun chip, hoping it would help her navi cut down the viruses a little faster. Armory stood at the very corner of the platform on the side nearest the viruses, if the fired at her here there wasn't much chance of hitting the rig accidentally. Her arm started to split open as she received the chip data, the big leaver action twelve gauge springing from inside the mechanisms of her arm. She caught the weapon in her left hand, butting it to her shoulder as her right arm reformed and took aim. She could drop at least one virus and hopefully damage another if she was careful.

The navi also knew she was about to take a lot of heat, and she couldn't dodge every shot about to be thrown her way. Her eyes narrowed as she looked down the sights of the shotgun, her coat starting to shimmer as she made sure she'd be able to take at least one hit before her aim was thrown off. Dropping to one knee to both brace herself and make a harder target Armoury finally pulled the trigger, the roar of her weapon could be heard even over the platform rig as her body jerked from the recoil. Armoury worked the action on the shotgun, discharging the spent shell before the weapon digitized and evaporated from her hands. There wasn't much left to do but stand her ground and hope that she could avoid at least a few of the incoming attacks, at least they would be heading for her and not the equipment.

Valis looked on from her computer chair with concern, things weren't going particularly well. She could see on her screen that Armoury was lit up like a Christmas tree and didn't really have anywhere to run. Nor could the navi take cover behind the equipment she was meant to be defending. Valis did the only thing she could think of to help, slotting in her guard chip as Armoury kept her profile low on the edge of the platform. She could see Armoury activate the projector, angling it towards another one of the viruses as the volley of fire flew towards her. Valis still didn't know how to feel about this sort of thing, the battles were exciting and intense at times. Though at the same time she wasn't particularly fond of seeing Armoury hurt...though in some bizarre way the navi seemed to enjoy it. Armoury never seemed to ever truly be in pain, but rather revelled in the thrill of combat, pushing herself to see what she could achieve. Valis knew that her navi was usually pretty cool under pressure but she'd seen a more vicious side of her once or twice. She only hoped that it wouldn't land Armoury in over her head at some day.

    Actions:
    1. Use Bulletproof ability (1 hit shield)
    2. Use Shotgun chip on PiranhaA/PiranhaB (50dmg)
    3. Dodge
    4. Use Guard chip (1 hit shield/Reflect/Piercing/Line attack) (Attempt to aim reflected attack towards Lark)

Armoury simply nodded to Angler over the noise of the machinery, taking up her position at the edge of the platform she surveyed the situation. This might end up being a little more difficult than she originally thought, hopefully she had the firepower to hold them back. She wanted to stay out of the water if she could help it as the viruses would probably be a lot more mobile than her.

"Alright, let's get to work" Armoury said as Valis slotted in the first chip. She chose heatshot as she knew as well as Armoury that they had to drop the number of viruses as quickly as possible. Armoury felt the bands of her arm split apart as her internal mechanisms rearranged themselves, raising her arm as the incendiary explosive warhead came to rest in the barrel of the anti armour launcher. Her left eye gave an ominous glow as she focused on her target in the first wave of viruses. She knew she had to make every shot count, especially with multi hit attacks. As she carefully trained her sights on the lead starfish she started to move along the platform to line it up with the second starfish in the first wave. Once she was sure she opened fire on the viruses, the RPG round streaking towards its target while Armoury changed position again, watching the explosion of flame on the water, hoping it was on target.

She felt much lighter on her feet since the upgrades she received, her movements having become quicker and more precise. She was thankful for that now as she definitely had to keep moving if she hoped to fend off the waves of viruses. She eyed the larger one at the back warily as she drew her pistols, sincerely hoping that she'd be up to the challenge of dealing with whatever that thing was.

"Time to play boys," she said softly to Pegasus and Cerberus as the two revolvers cocked their hammers in response. "Eager are we?" Armoury grinned as she took aim at the leading wave once again, her weapons beginning to glow. The crack of her revolvers rattled over the deep whir of the platform's equipment as Armoury let loose with Double Magnum on the two starfish viruses she'd attacked before. The gleaming blue and sickly purple contrails ripped across the water behind the charged shots as Armoury looked on, assessing the damage of her attack.

Valis meanwhile watched the battle closely as she sat at her computer, slightly worried that Armoury might be in a bit over her head. The navi had taken on many viruses before, but not this many at once that she could remember. She always felt slightly helpless in these situations, not being able to do much more than supply Armoury with weapons. She wasn't much of a strategist and net battling was still quite new to her. It would be quite some time before she learned the ins and outs of how various chips and viruses behaved, she only hoped that she could learn fast enough to keep Armoury out of trouble.

"Think we can take out this many viruses at once?" Valis asked as she looked over the incoming baddies again.

"We just have to keep pushing them back" the navi reassured her as she repositioned herself on the platform again, checking over her shoulder to see how Angler was doing.

"Alright, I think this should help hold them off" Valis said as she slotted in a cannon chip into her PET. Armoury nodded as her arm started to reform, the large bore barrel of the cannon taking shape,

"This should do nicely." Armoury dropped to one knee to brace herself as she levelled the cannon on the Piranha in the front row that hadn't had any unpleasantness visited upon it up until this point. Armoury would see to that soon enough though, the cannon letting fly with a low baritone bark and a flash as the powerful ball of energy left its muzzle. Armoury looked on to see how her barrage of fire had fared, if things went according to plan, she'd be off to a good start, but already she was halfway through her projectile arsenal. This was going to be difficult.

    Actions:
    1. Take aim (StarfishA/StarfishB)
    2. Use Heatshot chip (StarfishA/StarfishB) (40dmg/fire)
    3. Use Double Magnum ability (StarfishA/StarfishB) (2x20dmg)
    4. Use Cannon chip (PiranhaA) (40dmg/knockback)

    RE: Mission: Aquatic Archeology Adventure
Valis just watched for now, her image not showing up to the Navis as she knew it probably wasn't particularly good form to appear with poofy shower hair and a mouthful of cereal. She wasn't normally too concerned with her appearance, she didn't even really own any makeup, but she figured this was at least semi professional, being a mission and all. Armoury appreciated the thought, still being able to see Valis on a tiny display in the HUD of her left eye. The Navi nodded to them both and looked to Angler,

"I'll make sure they don't get anywhere near the rig so you'll be able to concentrate." She didn't want to look intimidating, but at least wanted to seem prepared for the job as Scubaman headed for the edge of the platform. It was strange, she didn't much care for making up appearances, but this was her first paying job, and it now seemed like it mattered. For the most part she was simply her normally collected self, eying the water then perking her ears as she noticed the moment of tension between the other navis. She hid a small grin with their exchange before he disappeared into the waves, she could just about see a hint of red through his mask.

Armoury kept her ears turned towards Angler as she did a quick circle around the small platform, getting an idea of how much room she had to work with while she listened. Things might get tight, but she should be able to handle it, if the two of them were able to escape more than once before it shouldn't be too bad. She then gave a quick nod to Angler,

"Understood, though I should probably know where the extra diving gear is just in case." Armoury didn't really have much interest in knowing why Scubaman was so keen on acquiring the old navi vessel, it wasn't really her business. The two of them seemed honest enough navis, she seriously doubted it was for any nefarious purpose or they wouldn't have made a request in an open board. If they chose to tell her later that would be their choice, though Valis was certainly curious about it. Maybe it would be brought up once the operation was over.

Armoury stood and ponders her options for a moment, looking at the hauling equipment, and then looking a bit apprehensively at the sea. The wide brim of her hat hid the brief moment of discomfort on Armoury's face as she once again entertained the thought of sinking to the ocean floor. Diving suit or not she wouldn't be nearly as mobile as Scubaman, she'd probably more of a hindrance down there. She then looked to the controls on the platform again and flicked her tail gently, they didn't look too complicated. Of course she'd never used such equipment before and it sounded as though mistakes couldn't be afforded in this situation, which really left only one option for her. Luckily she was well suited for the job,

"I believe I shall stay topside to defend the platform. My operator and I shall support you as best we can."

    RE: Mission: Aquatic Archeology Adventure
Armoury boarded the platform, dusting off her coat a bit as she had a look around, glancing back at the open ocean with the slightest bit of discomfort. For a moment she pondered the wisdom of taking a mission she knew full well was going to put her around vast quantities of deep water. This conundrum of course was compounded by the fact that she really had no idea how involved she would have to be with said deep water at this point. The mission description was quite vague on that matter.

It wasn't the water itself she was concerned about. In fact much like her operator she found a hot bath to be quite relaxing. Nor was it the threat of rust, the exposed alloy of her arms being impervious to oxidization. However, rust resistant as it was, this metallic substance wasn't known for its buoyancy, and it was known only to Armoury just how much of her body was made up of the material. She could keep her head above water for a time, but as negatively buoyant things are wanton to do, she would eventually sink quite quickly. The thought of drowning didn't much appeal to her.

She pushed that line of thought from her mind as she made her way across the platform towards the other two navis. Doing her best not to appear like some sort of hitwoman she managed to offer up what she hoped was a slight, friendly smile to them.
"Hello, I'm here about the mission request you posted. It didn't mention exactly what sort of assistance you needed, but I am at your service."

Valis returned from her shower, getting herself changed into her pyjamas and grabbing a bowl of cereal as she lacked the energy to cook. She then returned to her PC and blinked in a bit of confusion as she saw Armoury on a boat with two other navis.
"So....what are you up to then?" Valis asked as she got herself settled in.
"I've found us a mission. We're going to be assisting these two in finding....something" The navi replied as she motioned to the other navis with her.
    "Something?"
"An old ship of some sort, supposedly built by navis, we're just heading out to their platform now." Armoury then turned to the other two navis as she held her hat down a little against the windy sea,
"What is the plan exactly anyway?"

    Day at the races
The Mk. 2 Marker Sprint GS-R, not the prettiest or most elegant car to ever put rubber to pavement, but it was sought after classic of sorts for being one of the greatest hot hatches ever made. A touring and rally car legend in its day it not many could challenge 400+hp race spec version, but that was ever such a long time ago. A much humbler example of the car sat in a shed next to a modest duplex with a small, young woman shoulder deep in the engine bay. She was Attempting to fit the last upgraded components of an overboost system for the car.

"So this is the big day then?" queried the girl's half vulpine navi as she too was busy learning the new engine management procedures for the system. Valis strained as she fastened the final bolt, pulling her hands back from the engine bay, wiping a bit of perspiration from her brow as she eyed the engine bay with subtle satisfaction.

"Yes, I shall finally wipe that insufferably smug grin from Markus' face, and finally no longer have to hear about his exaggerated tales of greatness, which only ever seem to happen when I'm not around." Armoury grinned as she scrolled through lines of commands,

"And prove once and for all that power is not everything?" the navi's words dripped with sarcasm as she knew exactly what the overboost system was for.

"It's nothing but an equalizer that will let me showcase how my car is otherwise superior, besides, you know how he drives with that boat of his" Valis said as she washed the grime from her hands.

"True, I suppose it's not very sporting of him to somehow occupy the entire track until he reaches the long straight bits of it" the navi agreed, then started to close the engine management programs. Valis then grabbed her PET, heading inside to get cleaned up and prepared for the track day this afternoon.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun beat down on the cloudless day, but there was just a hint of crispness in the air as the seasons had started to change. Valis' deep blue Sprint fit in perfectly with the rest of the old and new cars in various states of modification, some more show than go. Others, like her own car, were further towards the unassuming sleeper end of the scale. It took hardly any effort to spot the vulgar, almost comically huge wing on the trunk lid of Markus McCullan's Blake Marauder SS. A fast car in its own right, if only in a straight line, it was the sledge hammer to the Sprint's rapier. Merely competent in the more technical sections of the course, it's true strengths were quarter mile sprints and big long straights. It's suspension and chassis not being the most complex bit of engineering ever seen, but it's huge V8 providing more than enough power to motivate it's vast bulk.

Markus himself was a fairly skilled driver for all the wrong reasons, able to use the girth of the wide muscle car to block out drivers, who would attempt to take advantage of his car's less than stellar road holding abilities. His features were sharp, but almost cartoonish in their exaggeration, having a jutting chin and high cheek bones he almost appeared to be Fonzie's evil cousin. He carried himself with the distinctive swagger of a complete and utter ponce, daring those with lesser vehicles to challenge his mighty throne of mediocrity among casual modders.

The rivalry between him and Valis was a fairly deep one, each having followed a different school of speed, she'd won some, as did he, but since the Marauder the battle had become somewhat one sided. With Markus relying on his money and Valis her mechanical prowess, the money and line blocking was starting to win out more consistently when they raced head to head. Valis' few victories only came when she found a gap in Markus' zealous line defense, though it was the Sprint that generally produced faster time trial laps.

This time would be different though, at least that's what Valis told herself as she found herself and empty pit and unpacked her tools. Pits were marked with stakes and orange tape in a large section of the outfield, they were free to whoever was planning to run their car that day. The trackside pits were reserved for those who raced professionally, rather than the fun runs the rest of the Sunday afternoon crowd was out for. Already valis heard the din of various cars making their way around the track, buzzing four cylinders to 12 cylinder exotica blew past while free run time was going on. She would be racing in some fun heats arranged by the race course management, they were open to everyone and arranged fairly loosely though they did tend to try to keep cars of similar performance together.

Valis tinkered with her car a little more as her PET sat on the cowl under the windshield, her eyes closing as she braced herself, hearing the grate of a particular set of cowboy boots on the gravel.

"Aww, did you bring you little blue bug out to get squashed again? I've already told you there's no replacement for displacement, I'll just blow the doors of this heap again." Valis slowly leaned out to eye Markus from behind the open hood of her car, her eyes half lidded as they often were but still sharp, fixing their unpleasant gaze upon the pile of smugness next to her car.

"If my turbo put half the air through the engine as what comes out of your mouth I certainly wouldn't have any problems with power." Valis might not have been the pinnacle of razor wit, but she could certainly hold her own against the likes of Markus. He simply scoffed at the comment and crossed his arms with that horribly sleazy smirk of his,

"We'll see how tough you talk when we're out on the track and you're stuck behind me, staring at my tail lights and eating my dust and...stuff." Satisfied that he'd won that round, Markus strutted off back towards his car. Valis rolled her eyes and continued to wrench away, awaiting the moment they started to announce the beginning of the fun run heats.

Valis laced up her driving shoes, then donned her gloves and helmet before climbing into her car. She slotted her PET into its holster between the seats and plugging it into the centre console. Armoury bought up the engine management programs as she transferred to the small display screen on the car's dash, looking over at Valis as the car rolled towards the starting grid.

"So do you want to try and get this over with quickly?" the navi asked as she did a quick systems check.

"No, we'll warm the car up for a few laps first, then hit him right at the end. Otherwise we'll just get caught up in traffic, I'll be able to keep up with him...I'm always able to keep up."

    "Just not quite pass?"

"That's going to change today" Valis whispered half to herself as she tightened her grip on the wheel, taking her starting spot in fourth position. Glancing in her mirror she saw the big black Marauder in fifth, though she knew he wouldn't be there for long. Eight cars sat on the grid as a few of the other modders had gathered to watch the heat, engines revving as they all awaited the drop of the green flag. Valis got herself settled as the flagman climbed up to his box. He selected the green flag and looked over the grid before raising it over his head, the collective revs of the cars raising with it as they got set for the off. A chorus of squealing rubber followed the drop of the flag, Valis having to react quickly to dodge left around the car in front of her which had botched its start. She moved up to third briefly before she heard the familiar bellow of that black monster tearing up the starting straight of the track. He always beat her into the first corner, that's how he stayed ahead, and would continue to block her until he got back out on the track's big main straight.

The two lead cars managed to stay ahead of Markus through the more technical back side of the course, but as they came around the last big left hand corner onto the straight he had them both outgunned. Valis kept pace with the two down the long stretch of track, and with Markus now out of the way dispatched the first car in the tight left at the end of the straight. Getting on the binders a fraction of a second later and outbreaking them she passed the car in third on the outside. She had all the advantages in the twisty back section of the track, the featherweight hatch could break later and bite harder into the corners. The Sprint's all wheel drive let the car hang on at higher speeds through a curve and get on the power sooner coming out of a turn. She soon took second place on the fast sweeper leading into a tight right hander before the big wide left leading to the main straight. As always she was sitting right on Markus' bumper until he was able to get the hammer down and pull away.

Valis bided her time for now, the race was 10 laps and she was only 2 in yet. She kept to her strategy of staying tight to Markus, any ground he gained on the straight was quickly lost once the road got twisty. The Sprint hummed along as Valis saved her tires for now, hardly having to push to keep pace with the constantly over steering Marauder. She made half hearted attempts to pass here and there just to keep Markus on his toes until the lap counter hit 9, now was the time to make her move.

"Alright Armoury, arm the system, 80% overboost on turn nine on my mark. Let's not blow it up first time out" Valis instructed as she stayed glued to Markus through the sweeper and headed into the tight right corner again. Armoury nodded as she prepped the system, which would let the turbo push its compression far past its normal limits, watching the engine for any signs of trouble. The two cars came out of turn eight and onto the big left hand turn nine before the main straight "Let's light 'em up!" Valis called out as she started to lay into the throttle. She turned to the inside of Markus, coming out of the turn on his left side in an overtaking attempt. Her front fender was level pegging with the rear wheel of the Marauder as it often was out of this turn before it unleashed its power and pulled away, but this time it was different. Valis watched the needle of the Sprint's boost gauge start climbing higher than it ever had before, the tiny car surging with new found power as Markus was now struggling to break away.

All eyes were locked on the duel for the lead as it certainly wasn't playing out the way any of them expected, the sound of the two cars pushing to the limit was immense. The tiny turbocharged four of the Sprint was like a thousand nests of giant hornets furiously swarming about as they were fed through a jet engine while backed up by the rattling baritone of the huge V8 like a machine gun that fired roaring tigers. The battle punctuated by sputtering bangs and spits of flame from the smaller car with every gear change. The rich overboosted fuel mixture caused huge wads of unburnt vapour to be dumped into the red hot exhaust manifold with every lift of the throttle to swap cogs. Also heard by all was the exact point at which Markus finally panicked, the Marauder's roar stuttering once the engine bounced off its rev limiter in a vain attempt to find some extra power to overwhelm the inexplicably swift hatchback. Valis held on as both their speedometers climbed at a suicidal rate, Markus' mistake having made them dead even coming into the tight left at the end of the straight.

Neither of them had ever gone this fast down this straight before, and the track they had left to work with was very quickly running out. The nose of the Marauder dived as Markus stood on the break, Valis waiting just a single, frantic beat of her pounding heart longer before stomping hard on both left pedals. She felt the back of the car go light and start to pull as the right front wheel locked up, smoke pouring off the tires of both cars as Valis flicked the nose of the Sprint into the corner. She threw the wheel to the right, the back of the car coming around gradually as she found second gear. Her right foot steering the car with the throttle as guided the car through a huge four wheel drift, having come in far too hot. She fared better than Markus though who fishtailed wildly through the bend behind her, nearly spinning off the track before recovering. They both knew it was over however, it was the last lap and only the technical section of the track remained through which Markus had no hope of catching up. Valis eased the Sprint through the remainder of the lap, opening a comfortable lead in just a few turns before rounding the final left one more time and taking the checkered flag. There were a few scattered cheers from the crowd, heard from those who knew of the rivalry between the two lead cars and the triumph that had just taken place.

The drivers did a cool down lap or two, eventually returning to the pits to let the next set set of eager drivers line up for their heat. Naught but a quietly smug grin and a vicious glare was exchanged between Valis and Markus as they rolled next to each other before turning away to their respective pit areas. Valis' expression was mirrored by Armoury who flashed her fangs with her smirk.

"THAT....was very satisfying" the navi said finally as they came to a stop and Valis started to get out of her race gear.

"That it was," Valis agreed "I imagine it will likely keep Geiger away for a little while if only for shame." Armoury smirked again at that comment, Geiger being the name of Markus' lecherous navi who hit on any female navi he met. Much to Armoury's dismay he was usually around when Markus pestered Valis at track days, though luckily he appeared absent today. Their interactions generally ended with some form of harm inflicted upon Geiger along with his declarations that she'll come around some day. With her mission for the day complete Valis gave her car a quick once over before packing her tools again and heading for home.

"Well since I've had my chance to blow off some steam we can probably do some virus busting or some such tonight. Maybe you can have a look around net square and see if you can find another navi to go busting with." Armoury twitched her tail a little with Valis' suggestion, she wasn't actively antisocial, but really didn't seek the company of other navis very much, though at very least she might as well give it a chance. Once they arrived home Valis jacked in her PET into her computer then went off to have a shower and make supper for herself, leaving Armoury to do as she pleased in the Netsquare for the time being.

    Leila Flynn / Mekka.EXE
Here we go again, requesting to shelf Leila and Mekka to bring Valis and Armoury back online.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Operator
    Name: Leila Flynn
    Age: 19
    Gender: Female
Appearance: At 6'3" Leila's well developed form makes her look several years older than she actually is. While her large, athletic frame can seem imposing at first her gentle dark green eyes soon assuage any feelings of intimidation. Her face is framed by deep red shoulder length hair, which has a sharp contrast to her rather fair complexion. While Leila does have a fairly well defined physique she still looks just a tad awkward and lanky, which she hides behind loose fitting clothing. She generally wears a T-shirt in combination with baggy jeans or slacks and a pair of simple brown leather hiking boots.

Personality: Laid back and carefree, Leila offers a bit of balance to her navi's hyperactive tendencies. While always mindful of things that are of particular importance she doesn't let the small setbacks in life get to her, preferring to shrug or laugh it off rather than work herself up over it. Leila never really seems to be in a hurry to get anywhere, but while it can appear that she's a bit lethargic she's far from it. A dependable, hard working soul always willing to offer her help, and generally not expecting much if anything in return, she simply enjoys the feeling that she's done some good. While not quite as outwardly social as her navi she's usually a perfectly affable person, and able to offer a friendly ear to her friends should they need it.

PET Modifications: Leila's PET is fairly simple, having a green and white colour scheme to match her navi. Mekka's emblem is on it as well which consists of a deep blue circle background behind a green hexagon is with a red cross laid over top of it.

    NetNavi
    Name: Mekka
    Gender: Female
    Element: Wood
    Type: Recover
Appearance: With her rather diminutive stature of a mere 4'8" Mekkah doesn't have the same presence of other navis, but relies more on her speed and agility than outright power. The best way to describe her general appearance is what looks to be a small android in power armour. Her primary color or that of her main body is a flawless white, while the plating she bares is a deep green. Her head appears to be comprised of full helmet with subtle fins on the side complete with a silver face shield. Above the face shield her eyes appear to be made up of a single black digital display that shows her eyes in solid green in various expressions.

Her upper torso has heavy dark green plating which extends to quarter circle shoulder guards and bares an angular, vaguely bust like shape, indicating a feminine form and her emblem placed just under the opening for her neck. The back of her upper body armour is equipped with a sort of 'backpack' which is capable of generating various useful items for Mekka. Her upper arms are uncovered but the plating continues on her forearms, both baring roughly teardrop shaped plating that starts narrower at the elbow and widens towards the end of her arms. Her left arm is slightly smaller with just a slit above her hand from which her sword is deployed. Her right arm is heftier, being slightly wider and a bit longer than the plating on her left arm. It extends slightly past her actual hand and functions as a heavy blunt force weapon in melee combat, though it doesn't really impede the function of her hand.

Mekka's 'midriff' is left exposed, the plating continuing from her hips down, covering all of her legs and flaring out slightly around her shins. The plating merges into a pair of large metallic boots which look just a bit oversized, giving Mekka a subtly bottom heavy, very planted appearance.

Personality: Energetic, boisterous and headstrong Mekka always seems to be a ball of energy ready to jump up and run a mile at a moment's notice. This energy can also go the other way as well as she can sometimes have a bit of a short temper but since she's been with Leila she's managed to rein herself in a little. A former information management navi at a small hospital in Electown, Mekka also doubled as light security against viruses for the hospital's network if the need arose. Unfortunately the hospital ended up closing down and with no actual owner Mekka ended up being sold alongside the rest of the hospital's equipment. While she tended to be upbeat about most things, the ordeal left Mekka with a few insecurities about her place in the world. She still retained most of her positive attitude, but often feels the need to prove herself to her new operator which can often get her in trouble when she holds her ground even when horribly outmatched.

    RE: Inside the shop
Leila gave the shop keeper a polite nod as she gathered her things

"Thank you sir" she said before turning around and heading back home.

    RE: Inside the shop
Leila stepped off the train and headed for the navi shop while Mekka looked on from the PET.

"Hey where are we going Leila?" she asked while her op walked along.

"We're gonna see if we can get a few upgrades for you, to make virus busting a little easier, and maybe explore a bit deeper into the net" Leila replied as she entered the shop and started to have a look around.

"Oh neat! I bet if I got a few process upgrades I'd be able to use more powerful moves, then I'll really show those viruses what's what!" Leila grinned and snickered softly at her navi's enthusiasm and eyed this and that on display,

"Hmmm....maybe we should get you something to make you a little tougher as well..." Leila thought aloud as she looked at all the shiny upgrades.

"Aww, I'm plenty tough already!" Mekka said as she crossed her arms in a bit of mock protest. Leila smiled and looked back at her navi

"Of course, but it's more for my own piece of mind, just in case you get in over your head." She then looked towards the counter, seeing a few other people in line she patiently waited for her turn before approaching the counter.

"Hello sir, I'd like an HP memory and two process upgrades please" she said as she handed over the appropriate amount of money.

    RE: Proving grounds
Mekka followed through with her swing, but stumbled as she was hit with a last second attack, grumbling as she rubbed her shoulder.

"Well that wasn't so hard" the small navi said as she stretched out, relaxing again once the dust had settled, as it were.

"I think we're probably good for now as far as virus busting goes, you shouldn't get yourself too dinged up right away" Leila said as she too relaxed in her chair.

"Yea I guess...." Mekka replied, slouching slightly as she rubbed the back of her head, hoping that Leila didn't suddenly think her too delicate for net battles. Leila smiled softly as Mekka jacked out

"Aww don't look so down, I think you did great, but it's probably best that we not try to take on the world right away." Mekka blinked then looked back with a bit of a sheepish smile,

    "I suppose you're right....and um....thanks."

"Don't mention it, now lets get you recharged, I've got a lot of functions to figure out for this PET, I've never had one before." Mekka nodded as she perked up a bit and snapped to attention,

"No worries! I'll help you with whatever you need!" Leila nodded and snickered softly,

"I'm sure you will, but that will have to wait for tomorrow." Leila then disconnected her PET and set about tidying up while Mekka reflected on her battles, still hoping that she would do her net op proud. If nothing else at least she was undefeated so far.

    ((End battle))

    RE: Proving grounds
Mekka did her best to guard herself against the dust storm, her metallic boots grinding against the ground as she struggled to remain stationary.

"Mekka you need to get out of there before you get hurt!" Leila called to her navi, but Mekka was having none of it, she stood her ground even as her visor became caked with dust.

"I'll be fine, I've almost got it!" the small navi shouted back through the storm, her vision blurring but she kept her guard up, waiting for the dust to settle before wiping her visor clean, trying to get a good look at her surroundings. An arm extended from her backpack, a beam weapon like attachment at the end of it, it quickly pointed directly down at the android and let loose a healing beam of green energy. Taking the more direct approach with her regenerator to save time Mekka glared fiercely at the broom, drawing her claws back as she found herself within a few feet of the program. She wasted no time, lunging forward as three arcs of brilliant azure ripped through the air, taking a horizontal swing to have a better chance of hitting the broom's stick figure body. The small navi was on full attack, she had to bring the broom program down quickly before it could pull any more tricks, Leila watched the battle closely, ready to pull her navi out of the fight if things went badly.

    Actions:
    1. Clean dust from visor
    2. Use Regenerator (heal 40hp)
    3. Use Rageclaw1 chip (40dmg/slashing)

    RE: Proving grounds
Mekka blinked in confusion as the broom started to dust her off, then swatted them away as best she could once she was caught with a firm whack from one of the broom handles.

"GAH! Oh it's on now! I'll carve ya into toothpicks!" the feisty navi growled as she charged forward. Leila quickly slotted in the next chip as she watched closely,

"Careful Mekka, we don't know what other tricks it might be hiding, don't let your guard down."

"Don't worry, I've got my eye on him" Mekka replied as her hooked claws sparked on the ground, dropping her shoulder as she prepared to unleash her attack. Leila looked on with concern as her navi rushed forward towards the strange program, doing the only thing she could think of to help and slotting in a second chip. As the small navi got in close she could feel her right arm shifting as the wide bore cannon barrel formed, her eyes narrowing as she charged the weapon, she'd show this two bit program what's what. Once she was within a few paces of the broom she broke left, bringing her sword arm down low before planting her left foot hard and shifting back to the right. She brought her claws up in a heavy left uppercut, trying to get the broom airborne hopping her claws caught the substantial tangle of mop at the bottom of the strange program to impart more force to her target. Her right arm came up next, bringing her cannon to bare on the broom program, if her manoeuvre was successful she'd be firing point blank at an aerial target unable to dodge. She was taking a fairly big gamble, but all she wanted now was victory, she wouldn't fold in her first tough fight, especially not against some silly broom.

    Actions:
    1. Dodge
    2. Use Rageclaw1 chip on BroomNavi (40dmg/slashing)
    3. Use Cannon chip on BroomNavi (40dmg/knockback)
