Okay, for anyone who hasn't found it yet, or forgotten about it by now, Fantastic Contraption is a game that allows you to build your own contraptions to get The Ball from the Start area to the Goal area.

And I never thought of chains, that's neat. The coolest thing I figured out so far was trainwheels. Those work pretty well.
